In this article, I’d like to share with you two AI that will create original music and composition for you for free!
To create an Artificial Intelligence, you sometimes need to train it on several hundred thousand pieces of data.
This is what some companies have done with excerpts of music and compositions of all kinds.
This has enabled them to offer the general public algorithms capable of generating quality music in a matter of seconds.
Magenta
The first one we’d like to introduce to you is Magenta.
Introduced as a software that can be installed but also as a library of Python and Javascript that you can use in your algorithms.
No worries for non-developers, this software can be used without any programming knowledge.
Therefore you can download Magenta as a plugin for Ableton (music composition application) but also as an application by itself. It happens on this link !
Be careful though, this application is not designed to create a whole music but presets (or loops) that you can easily reuse in your own compositions.
Indeed, if you want to create a whole sound by Artificial Intelligence, you will have to head towards…
The first is Magenta, an artificial intelligence research and development platform created by Google.
Magenta focuses specifically on the application of artificial intelligence to music generation.
Magenta offers a range of open source tools enabling artists and musicians to explore and experiment with AI models specialized in music and melody generation.
In addition to that, Magenta also offers access to a library enabling developers to use these musical tools in their algorithms (available in Python and Javascript).
Magenta was created with the aim of democratizing the use of artificial intelligence in music and artistic creation.
In this way, it stimulates collaboration and innovation in these fields.
As the project is open source, the community can freely contribute to its improvement and push back the boundaries of AI-assisted creativity.

However, it is important to note that this application is not designed for the complete creation of music.
Its main purpose is to provide presets (or loops) that you can easily reuse in your own musical compositions.
If you want to create an entire piece of music using artificial intelligence, you’ll have to turn to…
AIVA
AIVA is an artificial intelligence-based platform developed in 2016 by Luxembourg-based AIVA Technologies.
The AI, trained on over 30.000 musical compositions, is designed to generate original music autonomously.
It uses advanced Machine Learning algorithms and models based on neural networks to generate music in different styles and genres (electronic, pop, ambient, rock, fantasy, jazz, …).
AIVA is capable of analyzing a musical composition, understanding its structure, harmony and musical patterns.
By analyzing these properties, the AI can create new compositions, generating melodies, chords, rhythms and even complete orchestrations.
Users simply need to specify the parameters they want: musical style, mood, duration, instruments, etc.
AIVA then generates a unique musical composition based on these prerequisites.
The compositions can then be used in a variety of fields, including music production, film soundtracks, video games, advertising and other media.
